Learn Quran with Tafseer

Allah said in the Quran in surah Al-Baqarah:

That Allah gives hikmah to whom so ever he wills and the one who is given hikmah

He is given much good that means the fear of Quran alone that the one who is given to fear of Quran meaning an understanding of the Quran

He is the one Allah is referring to when he said he has been given an abundance of good.

Ibn e Abbas on Learning Quran with Tafseer

What Ibn e Abbas is saying that:

Everyone is reading the Quran. The best of us in the worst of us, but Tafseer of the Quran is something different it’s not just about reading the fear of the Quran is about understanding what the Quran is saying to you, o believer.

Once an unrelated incident is Ibn e Abbas walking and Ibn e Khattab coming over, was if you like talking to himself.

What he said is that:

How will this Ummah ever come to disagree?

When they Lord is one, their Prophet is one, and their book the Holy Quran is one, and the Qibla is also one.

So he was admiring the unity of the Ummah at that time before the time there was to learn Quran with Tafseer

Ibn e Abbas: We read to learn Quran and understand what is being revealed

Ibn e Abbas said that:

We read the Quran and understand what is being revealed therein.

But the generations that are going to come afterwards, they will read the Quran but understand it differently.

They all understand what they understanding.  When they have a different understanding of the Quran

Then they will differ and disagree and when they differ and disagree then they will start fighting one another.

Hearing this Ibn e Khattab wasn’t happy but understood later

Now when Ibn e Khattab heard it, he wasn’t happy he wasn’t happy.

But later on generation says that Ibn e Khattab came to realize the truth of what Ibn e Abbas said and so he came to him and he basically said to him:

“What you said was true, thank you now this leads us on to a nice explanation”

As Ibn e Abbas said:

Those who understood the Quran the best were the ones that were to receive the recipients of the Quran.

And they are Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his companions.

They were the ones that understood it the best. And then came those after them

So it makes sense to try and find out what they understood of the Quran here, as opposed to someone who came much later and is not too bothered about what the companion said now.
