Surah Al-Fatihah – The Opening
1. بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Transliteration: Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm
Translation: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
2. ٱلْـحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Transliteration: Al-ḥamdu lillāhi Rabbil-‘ālamīn
Translation: All praise is for Allah—Lord of all the worlds.
3. ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Transliteration: Ar-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm
Translation: The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
4. مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
Transliteration: Māliki Yawmid-Dīn
Translation: Master of the Day of Judgment.
5. إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
Transliteration: Iyyāka na‘budu wa iyyāka nasta‘īn
Translation: You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
6. ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
Transliteration: Ihdinaṣ-ṣirāṭal-mustaqīm
Translation: Guide us on the Straight Path.
7. صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
Transliteration: Ṣirāṭallaḏīna an‘amta ‘alayhim ġayril-maġḍūbi ‘alayhim wa laḍ-ḍāllīn
Translation: The path of those You have blessed—not of those who have earned Your anger or gone astray.
